We have a need for a Project Manager for our direct client MTA Police Department in Midtown Manhattan. Work week is 35 billable hours. Some travel to other MTA offices in the region may be required. A background check is required. Some extra hours or off hours work may be required as MTAPD operates 24x7. The Consultant(s) shall be responsible for providing technical support for all systems used by the MTAPD including mission-critical applications such as Tiburon, Intergraph & Lenel. The consultant(s) shall utilize existing tools provided by the MTA to support these systems. The systems are based on Microsoft Windows Server, Linux, Juniper and Cisco network and security devices. The desktop systems include Windows XP and Windows 7. The positions will primarily be located at 341 Madison Avenue in Midtown Manhattan but the consultants may be required to report to other locations within the MTA region for special projects. Occasional travel throughout the MTA Region will be required. The hours are flexible including 7 hours of work and 1 hour for lunch. Furthermore, respondents should be aware that the MTAPD operates 24x7 and may require consultants to be available occasionally to work extra hours or off hours. This work may require an onsite visit and/or accessing the systems remotely. The candidates will be subject to an MTAPD background investigation and an NDA is required. GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: °Provide technical support to the MTAPD employees and IT Support for the Police Support Unit. °Install, configure, administer and maintain applications, workstations, servers, scanners and MFP's. °Manage and Inventory Computers and MFP rollout projects °Manage Printer consolidation project. °Participate in systems acceptance testing and change management processes. °Monitor systems health, troubleshoot and coordinate repair of all systems and devices, including but not limited to Cisco, Juniper, Dell, HP, NEC, McAfee, Nokia as well as Tiburon, Intergraph, and Lenel software. °Open, Close and Update all problem tickets in BMC Service Desk. °Coordinate maintenance and repairs with external vendors and perform related administrative duties °Server room management and server rack building °Enforce Enterprise Security policies DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: °Minimum Seven Years of IT experience. °Solid Experience with administration and management of Systems, Networking and Security hardware including Servers, Proxies, Routers, Switches, Firewalls and VPN devices. °Microsoft Active Directory configuration and administration. °Ability to manage, create and distribute images using Ghost and Acronis. °Experience with VMWARE, NetApp SAN & HP Blade Chassis °Familiar with Nortel, Cisco, Juniper, McAfee Security Products & Citrix °Proven experience with Microsoft Office Suite with an emphasis on Project and Visio. °Strong security awareness and focus; knowledge of security policies, principles, disaster recovery, change management and backup procedures °Ability to work with minimal supervision and handle critical situations in a 24x7 environment. °Excellent verbal, communication and writing skills °Data Center Consolidation, Operations, Management and/or Relocation experience is a plus. °Experience with large IT projects and utilizing Project Management skills. °Familiar with Public Safety systems and technologies |
